Isaac is a design researcher and builder of human-centered technologies that offer novel solutions to complex policy problems. As a Senior Consultant, he partners with Working Paper's clients to manage complex projects, build multifaceted coalitions, and launch great products. Isaac's unique perspective is informed by his experiences in founder, product, and research leadership roles at multiple startups – from a venture-backed deep tech startup to a category-defining digital health platform company.

Prior to Working Paper, Isaac was a founder and Chief Product Officer at Croft, a venture-backed startup he founded to make clean energy work for rural communities, from Tennessee to Tanzania. Prior to Croft, Isaac founded a social enterprise called Medic and co-designed a digital health platform that >170,000 health workers have used to support over 150M care encounters in Africa and Asia. This software is a top ten digital health platform for care providers globally, and stands as the most widely adopted solution for health workers operating at the point of care in Africa.

Isaac was previously a faculty member in Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington, his research has over 30,000 downloads and over 1,600 citations. As Chief Research Officer at Medic, Isaac established a thriving open science network around Medic's open source projects, and in 2020 he launched Medic Labs to incubate breakthroughs in precision public health. He received his Ph.D. in human centered design from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Gates Cambridge Scholar.
